Puppetry knows no age limits – it is an art form that captivates both children and adults alike. While the festival offers puppet-making workshops all ages, this special session is designed for adults whose professional work centres on teaching and nurturing children.
Participants will learn simple, quick techniques for creating puppets that they can use in their work with children, as teaching tools, for creative expression, or entertainment in group activities with children and parents.
We will craft a puppet inspired by rod puppet techniques, using everyday materials easily available in preschools, schools, or homes: plastic bottles, sturdy rope, thin sponge, foam balls, fabric scraps, yarn, ribbons, and of course, scissors.
The puppet can be operated by one or two performers, which opens up possibilities for diverse interpretations.
By participating, you will gain hands-on experience with professional techniques and creative solutions from experienced puppeteers who have worked with both children and adults for many years.
