Life is a non-verbal theatre piece for an actor and objects that explores the relentless and constant passage of time.
Before our eyes, the characters are born, grow, reproduce, and die, turning VIDA into a metaphor for our own lives — always moving forward, with no possibility of turning back.
Handcrafted objects possess their own personalities, while the hands themselves become living beings: protagonists that create movement, emotion, and life. A drifting basket, a journey… New life emerges from every corner, from every basket — precious, singular, and unique.
Since 2015, the Javier Aranda Company has been exploring the movement of different materials in order to create a stage language of its own, one that merges acting with the manipulation of objects.
Javier Aranda, actor, puppeteer, and director of the company, is an artist from Aragón, trained at the Escuela de Teatro de Zaragoza, who continues to refine his craft through ongoing collaboration and training with leading international theatre professionals. With his two productions to date, Parias and Vida, Javier Aranda has gained both national and international recognition, performing at major theatres and festivals across Spain and in more than fifteen countries worldwide.
Since 2021, the company has been part of Canasta Escénica, an initiative dedicated to supporting the development of live arts projects, promoting artistic creation, and expanding access to culture for all.
