VAFI & RAFI is a festival for animated films made by children and young people under 18 years of age from all over the world in the VAFI category and professional filmmakers for children and young people in the RAFI category. 55th PIF will present VAFI section.
This year’s 13th VAFI & RAFI Festival was held from 26th to 28th May in Rijeka and from 2nd to 5th June, 2022 in Varaždin under the sponsorship of the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC), the City of Varaždin, the City of Rijeka, Croatian Film Directors Guild, Varaždin City and Varaždin County Tourist Board and co-organised by ASIFA Croatia, the Croatian Film Association, Varaždin Concert Agency, POU Varaždin – Open University, Gaj Cinema and Children’s House.. Festival’s partner country was Czech Republic.
The festival received 995 animated films from over 90 countries. There were 223 films in the VAFI section and 772 in the RAFI section. After detailed viewing, 188 films were selected and entered the official program of the festival. A total of 100 in the VAFI section, and 88 films in the RAFI section.
We will show the best animated puppet films from Russia, Mexico, India, China/Taiwan, Portugal, Belgium and Croatia.
